Gateway to the Highlands
Highland Fling is uniquely set amongst the jaw-dropping views over the River Garry in the pass of Killiecrankie, on the edge of the Scottish Highlands.
The Pass of Killiecrankie was gouged into the landscape over thousands of years by the melt-waters of successive Ice Ages. It has developed into a spectacular wooded gorge and we are truly lucky with our location.
Not only does it offer the perfect setting for our adventures, but also presents an opportunity to explore the area, connect with the awesome nature and extend your trip to take in the many other wonderful attractions on offer.
Both the woodland covered slopes and the River Garry flowing along the bottom of the Pass support an incredibly rich diversity of wildlife.
In 1689, the Battle of Killiecrankie, part of the first Jacobite uprising, was fought nearby. The Pass has many links to the Battle including the famous Soldier’s Leap, where one soldier escaped the battle by jumping an impressive 5.5m across the river.
A National Trust for Scotland Visitor Centre located at the Passes north end, tells the story of the Pass and its management.
And the beauty of it is our proximity to a wonderful array of towns and villages. Pitlochry, Dunkeld and Aberfeldy are key highlights to name but a few.

From Glasgow (approx. 1hr 45mins)

Take the M80 northbound, then merge onto the A9 at Stirling.

Follow the A9 north past Perth towards Pitlochry.

Take the Killiecrankie exit (signposted), just before Pitlochry.

Follow the road to Killiecrankie Visitor Centre, where parking is available.
From Edinburgh (approx. 1hr 45mins - 2hrs)

Take the M90 northbound to Perth.

Merge onto the A9 northbound towards Pitlochry.

Take the Killiecrankle exit (signposted), Just before Pitlochry.

Follow the road to Killiecrankie Visitor Centre, where parking is available.
From Aberdeen (approx. 2hrs 15mins - 2hrs 30mins)

Take the A90 southbound towards Perth.

At Dundee, merge onto the A85, then continue to the A9 northbound towards Pitlochry.

Take the Killiecrankle exit (signposted), just before Pitlochry.

Follow the road to Killiecrankie Visitor Centre, where parking is available.
From Inverness (approx. 1hr 45mins - 2hrs)

Take the A9 southbound towards Perth.

Drive past Aviemore and Kingussie.

Take the Killiecrankie exit (signposted), just after Blair Atholl.

Follow the road to Killiecrankie Visitor Centre, where parking is available.
By Public Transport
From Glasgow

Take a train from Glasgow Queen Street to Pitlochry (direct service available, approx. 1hr 45mins).

From Pitlochry, take the local Elizabeth Yule bus 87 towards Blair Atholl and request a stop at Killiecrankie Visitor Centre (approx. 10 mins).

Alternatively, a taxi from Pitlochry to Killiecrankie takes about 10 minutes.
From Edinburgh

Take a train from Edinburgh Waverley to Pitlochry (direct service available, approx. 1hr 50mins).

From Pitlochry, take the Elizabeth Yule bus 87 towards Blair Atholl and request a stop at Killiecrankie Visitor Centre.
